Island of Föhr

The Island of Föhr is 90 km away from the apartments. Travel time in the car is 2.5 hours.

The Island of Föhr is often decribed as the Caribbean of the North Sea. The wide, sandy beaches, green landscape and the Gulf Stream create a wonderful North Sea climate. The island is a holiday paradise for the whole family.

The second largest German island in the North Sea is 82 square km big and is situated in the Nationalpark Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors can experience a perfect beach holiday in unique surroundings.

The Föhr adventure starts with getting to the island. The crossing takes ca. 45 minutes and if ycrossing during low tide, holidaymakers can spot seal colonies on the sand banks. The first sea spa on the North Sea coast was founded on the island in 1819. Vistors can explore the small lanes of the historic town and discover historic houses, quirky shops and cosy cafes. The beautiful promenade offers a unique view of the small Hallig islands nearby.
