The story behind it:

I have been fascinated by building model railways ever since I got my first railway for Christmas when I was eight. The years passed by and the model became larger and larger. It still is in my house.

In 1986, I met my wife and it wasn’t long until she was also fascinated by model railways. The idea to built a large-scale model for visitors to explore had been in my mind for a while.

In 1998, my wife and I took over my father’s company. Re-structuring this company was of course more important at the time, so the creation of the model railway exhibition took longer than planned.

We pondered the opening of a second enterprise for long time, until my wonderful wife made up her mind on Christmas 2004 and told me that we could go ahead.

With the worlds ‚Live your dreams, don’t dream your life‘did she tell me under the Christmas tree that our dream should be the model railway exhibition.

And so was the exhibition planned and build by the company Modellanlagenbau. We carried out the construction of the the buildings ourselves and delved into planning the details, always supported by our children Mareike and Marten.
